We named our firm red granite advisors because the state rock of Wisconsin embodies the characteristics we value: stability, strength, integrity.
Eight of us, having worked together at a large institution for many years, came together to form red granite. With a very successful track record as portfolio managers of a growth strategy we felt strongly about, we wanted to continue to manage assets in a more personal environment. We envisioned working in an independently owned, more nimble firm, where we could provide greater focus and attention to our clients.
Our collective wisdom capitalizes on our individual skills. Having worked together for so long – over 13 years – we operate seamlessly as a team, building portfolios of high-quality companies with above average, more persistent earnings growth relative to their industry peers.
We are firm believers that – just like our logo, the bull and the shadowing bear– performance in down markets is equally as important as it is in up markets, if not more so. We also believe that the earnings characteristics of a company are
revealed over the long term, and that the company’s stock price
reflects not only the growth rate of these earnings, but their
patterns of volatility over time, as well.
Our objective is to outperform our benchmark over a full market
cycle with less volatility, and our successful long-term track
record reflects our adherence to this investment philosophy.
